Position Summary
The EHS Specialist is responsible for supporting and administering the site’s Environmental, Health, and Safety programs to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. This position plays a key role in implementing safety initiatives, maintaining required documentation, and supporting all elements of the Process Safety Management (PSM) program. The EHS Specialist also assists with managing budget items related to EHS activities, training, and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Support implementation and maintenance of EHS programs in accordance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and incident investigations; ensure corrective actions are completed.
- Administer and maintain elements of the PSM program, including MOC, PHA participation, operating procedures, and compliance audits.
- Assist with development and delivery of EHS training for employees and contractors.
- Maintain accurate EHS records, reports, and regulatory documentation.
- Support emergency response planning, drills, and preparedness activities.
- Assist with tracking and managing EHS budget items, including equipment, training, and compliance-related expenses.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Safety, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or chemical environment.
- Required: Hands-on experience with (PSM) standards.
- Strong understanding of OSHA and EPA regulations.
- Effective communication and organizational skills.
- Experience managing or supporting EHS budget activities.
