Position Summary:

Sterling Management Group is seeking a licensed, detail-oriented Assistant Account Manager to join our Medical Professional Liability (MPL) insurance team.

You do not need Medical Professional Liability experience to apply. We are looking for someone with a solid foundation in insurance who is interested in learning a specialized and valuable area of the industry. We will provide hands-on training in Medical Professional Liability and help the right candidate develop expertise in serving physicians, medical practices and other healthcare organizations.

MPL is a specialized area of commercial insurance that requires knowledge of healthcare risks, coverage structures and underwriting. For someone looking to expand their insurance career beyond traditional personal or commercial lines, this position offers an opportunity to develop a valuable specialty and become a knowledgeable resource for healthcare clients.

This is primarily an account-service position, not a sales or commission-based role. The Assistant Account Manager will work closely with experienced Account Managers and producers while developing the knowledge and skills necessary to progress into an Account Manager position with increased responsibility and compensation.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist with servicing medical professional liability and related commercial insurance accounts.
• Communicate with clients, carriers, underwriters and other business partners.
• Obtain applications, renewal information, provider schedules, loss runs and underwriting documents.
• Process endorsements, certificates, policy changes and other service requests.
• Maintain accurate client, policy and activity information in AMS360.
• Review applications, policies and endorsements for accuracy and completeness.
• Track renewals, outstanding requirements, carrier responses and deadlines.
• Assist with submissions, proposals, policy summaries and client correspondence.
• Promptly route potential claims and other time-sensitive communications.
• Maintain organized and confidential electronic account records.
• Provide backup support to other team members as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• Active Oklahoma Property and Casualty insurance license.
• Two or more years of insurance experience.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Dependable, organized and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Commercial property and casualty experience.
• Experience using Vertafore AMS360.
• Medical professional liability or healthcare insurance experience.
• Previous experience as an Assistant Account Manager, CSR or Account Manager.

Again, prior Medical Professional Liability experience is not required. Candidates with a strong insurance background who are eager to learn a specialized area of the industry are encouraged to apply.

• $50,000–$55,000 annual salary, depending on experience.
