Role Overview
The Electronics Assembler is responsible for building and assembling high-quality products in a timely and efficient manner, processing and documenting RMAs, operating assembly equipment, and ensuring all finished products meet Sterling Lighting’s quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean, organized work area in compliance with 5S standards
- Build and assemble high-quality products with accuracy and efficiency
- Receive, evaluate, and process RMAs, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate
- Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and replace components in luminaires that fail to meet quality standards
- Conduct performance testing of luminaires (heat testing, leak testing, corrosion testing, seal testing, troubleshooting, etc.) and accurately record all results in applicable systems
- Disassemble and prepare products for recycling
- Assist with unloading shipping containers and preparing inventory for stocking (approximately 1–2 times per month)
- Safely operate tools and equipment including: sand blaster, volt meter, desktop power source, robotic arm, pallet jack, air compressors, thermal imaging camera, ultrasonic welding machine, screw guns, wire crimpers, calipers, soldering iron, and similar equipment
What We’re Looking For
- 1 year of assembly experience; preference for experience in electronics, lighting, or related consumer products
- Ability to lift and move boxes up to 40 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Motivated to learn and continuously improve
Performance Expectations (First 45 Days)
New team members are expected to:
- Complete all company training
- Demonstrate a general understanding of the Sterling Lighting product lineup
- Understand luminaire internals and how they function within a complete lighting system
- Accurately evaluate products and document required data when receiving an RMA
- Correctly disassemble and assemble Sterling Lighting products
- Troubleshoot luminaires and related components

Work Environment
