You'll be involved with drilling, placing rebar, and pouring concrete shafts to lay the foundation for new construction.
With some workers habitually working in one branch of the industry, and others transferring from task to task, you'll enjoy the flexibility of adapting to different projects as they progress or according to work availability.
Position Description
Drilling Laborer Level I responsibilities and abilities include, but are not limited to, the following duties
- Assist in mixing chemicals to make drilling slurry.
- Assemble, disassemble, and operate crane and drill rig.
- Change out drilling tools.
- Shovel work.
- Connect, disconnect, and lay out slurry hoses.
- Secure rebar in drill shaft.
- Clean off the top of the drill shaft when pouring concrete is complete.
- Clean work areas, tools, equipment, materials, etc.
- Lift, carry, and hold building materials, tools, and supplies.
- Dig, spread, and level dirt and gravel, using pick, rake, and shovel.
- Transfer from job to job as projects progress and work is available.
- Work with other workers in a cooperative manner.
- Perform general labor work.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
- Minimum 0-1 year of construction work experience.
- Reliable transportation to work.
- Ability to work safely.
- Ability to carry 70 lbs. or more.
- High School diploma / GED preferred.
- Willingness to perform general laborer work (e.g. sweeping, cleaning up job sites, running errands, using a hammer and saw, digging trenches, etc.).
- Willingness to travel depending on business necessity.
- Flexible availability to work overtime and weekends.
