M. Host

We are seeking an experienced upscale Host/Hostess to become an integral part of Marlow’s Tavern!

As a Host/Hostess, you are the main point of contact for and with our guests, guiding them through a great experience every day. Your mission is to create a personalized and memorable experience with every interaction, creating a deep bond with each guest, and providing a friendly & cheerful place for all guests by delivering exceptional service and world-class hospitality.

As a Host/Hostess, you will interact with our guests personifying our company’s philosophies, values, and guiding principles, serving as the champion of the “Hospitality First” vibe.

Daily Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

·        Communicate with all Managers/Chef de Cuisine to receive updates on food & beverage features and station assignments

·        Prepares and sets assigned sections including booths, community tables, tables, and the patio for guests before the shift

·        Confirm reservations for the following day

·        Place table settings and silverware rolls at each place setting to prepare tables for guests

·        Inspect the building exterior by walking around the building to identify areas that may require immediate cleaning

·        Organize and maintain a restroom cleaning schedule

·        Performs additional duties including emptying trash and cleaning restrooms to ensure the tavern is organized and prepared

·        Executes Marlow’s Tavern’s top 3 priorities: Front door, running food & beverage, and answering phones

·        Greets guests, introduces themselves and presents guests with the menu at the table

·        Answers questions a guest may have regarding food and beverages

·        Runs food from expo to guests

·        Observe guests’ body language to anticipate guests’ needs to add value to the guests’ experience and promote repeat business

·        Listens to guests’ complaints and comments and informs the manager

·        Thank the guests, bid a fond farewell, and invites them to return as they leave The Woodall

·        Sweep floors in the dining area, lobby, etc., with a broom to remove trash and to maintain the cleanliness of the tavern

·        Monitors dining room tables to ensure they meet or exceed standards (ex. proper table symmetry, non-streaked glassware)

·        Prepares tables for each party of guests by removing dirty dishes and linens, sweeping the floor and wiping seats around the table, and resetting the table with fresh paper and clean dishes

·        Carries dirty dishes, glassware, and silverware out of the dining room and bar to the dish area for cleaning

·        Assists other team members and guests as needed to ensure teamwork

·        Inspects and maintains restrooms by replenishing toiletries, wiping down surfaces with a sanitized cloth, and cleaning up spills to ensure clean, well-stocked restrooms

·        Ensures that tables are set and the dining room is immaculate before the start of the next shift

·        Completes all closing duties, including stocking, cleaning, etc., as assigned

·        Check out with a manager before leaving to ensure all duties and side work have been completed and performed to standard

·        Reads work schedule to determine when the next shift and work time will occur

Requirements:

·        Entry level acceptable – 1 year high volume Host/Hostess experience preferred

·        Customer service experience preferred

·        Must be the minimum age to serve alcohol and able to obtain a county liquor license

·        Authorized to work in US
