Open Position: PMA Technician / Coordinator (full time)
Location: In-Person (HQ in Philadelphia, PA (Croydon, PA))

Position Purpose: Sterling Helicopter is a leading aerospace parts manufacturer specializing in FAA-approved replacement parts. We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized PMA Coordinator to support our FAA Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) program. This includes parts and STC kits for Part 23/25/27/29 aircraft.
Experience Required:
- High school diploma required.
- Trade School / Technical School / Associate / Bachelor's degree preferred (Engineering, Aviation, Manufacturing, Machining, Business, or related field).
- 1–3 years of experience in aerospace, manufacturing, and/or regulatory compliance.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Familiarity with FAA regulations and/or AS9100/ISO 9001 standards is a plus.
- Effective communicator, both written and verbal.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively in a team setting
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience supporting PMA or other FAA certification programs.
· Exposure to technical drawings, specifications, or reverse engineering.
· Knowledge of additive/3D manufacturing processes (a plus, not required).
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing and submitting PMA documentation to the FAA.
- Maintain and organize technical data, engineering drawings, and reports.
- Track project timelines, document versions, and FAA approvals.
- Operate and monitor manufacturing and finishing equipment
- Prepare raw materials and tools for production runs
- Perform laser cutting and part marking/etching operations
- Inspect finished parts for accuracy, quality, and consistency
- Assist with 3D printing setup, post-processing, and cleaning
- Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, and DERs to ensure submission completeness.
- Support audits by maintaining and retrieving regulatory documentation.
- Ensure documentation meets FAA Part 21 Subpart K and internal quality system requirements.
- Update internal PMA tracking logs and dashboards.
Company History / Background
Founded in 1984, Sterling is located in Croydon, Pennsylvania and employs approximately 70 full-time employees. This position is within our Engineering Department where we offer aircraft modifications that apply to fixed and rotor wing aircraft via Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs), Amended Type Certificate (ATC) support, and Major Alterations/Repairs. Our Engineering Department has employees that work in the office, as well as remote. Sterling also holds FAA-PMA for manufacturing aircraft parts, and additionally Sterling operates a large helicopter MRO facility, offering aircraft maintenance and modifications on a large variety of Airbus, Bell, Sikorsky, Agusta, & MD Helicopter products. Our MRO shop is both FAA and EASA certified as a Part 145 Repair Station.
