Title: Lead Maintenance Technician

Location: Elgin, IL

Hire Type: Direct Hire

Salary: $27-$30/hr.

The Lead Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting machinery and equipment maintenance while serving as a flexible production resource across the shop floor. This position ensures equipment remains safe and operational while providing support in multiple manufacturing roles as needed.

Job Duties:

• Inspect machines to ensure equipment is operating safely and properly
• Perform Preventive Maintenance Inspections (PMIs) according to established ISO schedules
• Perform maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and support ongoing machine reliability efforts
• Support daily operations and production requirements across departments
• Assist with additional maintenance or production duties as assigned
  
  

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma required with emphasis in machine shop, wood shop, or metal shop
• Trade school education or two-year degree in metal shop preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a metal fabrication or welding shop environment
• Experience with machine repair and maintenance, including PMIs
• Previous supervisory experience preferred (2 years)
• Ability to read and interpret shop drawings
