Salary: $115K–$130K (plus bonus)

Sterling Engineering is looking for a Project Manager – Electrical Construction in Downers Grove, IL. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced project leader to oversee complex electrical construction projects from estimation through completion.

Job Summary:

The Project Manager will lead medium-voltage electrical, renewable energy, or substation construction projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget and quality standards. This role involves collaboration with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to manage all phases of project execution.

Job Duties:

• Develop accurate and competitive project cost estimates.
• Lead subcontractor selection, negotiation, and buyout processes.
• Conduct and lead weekly OAC (Owner–Architect–Contractor) meetings.
• Oversee project schedules, budgets, and change management.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety, and quality requirements.
• Coordinate design reviews and ensure accuracy of drawings.
• Foster relationships with clients and partners to ensure project success.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of construction management experience.
• Experience in substation, renewable energy, or other medium-voltage electrical projects preferred.
• Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, and/or Primavera P6.
• Experience designing or reviewing drawings in AutoCAD or Revit required.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (In-office)

Travel: Up to 25%
