Applications Engineer – Automation & Machine Design
📍 Location: FULLY REMOTE
💼 Position Type: 6 month contract
We’re seeking an Applications Engineer to help develop custom automation and machine design solutions for a growing manufacturing organization. This role combines engineering, problem-solving, cost estimation, and customer interaction, supporting projects from initial concept through design and build.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with sales to develop technical solutions based on customer requirements and specifications.
- Review engineering drawings, technical documents, and project scopes.
- Evaluate concepts for technical feasibility, cost, and potential risks.
- Analyze manual, automated, and robotic manufacturing processes.
- Support project estimating, component sourcing, and vendor quoting.
- Participate in customer meetings, presentations, and technical reviews.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations throughout the design and build process.
- Maintain project documentation, cost databases, and CRM records.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in an engineering-related field required; bachelor's degree preferred.
- Knowledge of machine design and assembly automation.
- Familiarity with robotics and automated manufacturing processes.
- Experience with 2D/3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
