Job Summary:
- We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to oversee daily operations in a high-volume food manufacturing environment. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for ensuring efficient production processes, product quality, workforce safety, and employee engagement within a fast-paced processing department.
Job Duties:
- Lead and coordinate daily production activities to maintain efficient workflow, resource allocation, and adherence to production schedules.
- Manage staffing levels, monitor labor costs, and ensure department operations align with budgetary goals.
- Train, develop, and coach team members to promote skill growth, accountability, and consistent performance.
- Foster a positive and respectful workplace culture that emphasizes communication, teamwork, and employee relations.
- Review production data and reports to assess performance metrics, efficiency, and compliance with established standards.
- Ensure full compliance with all company procedures and regulatory requirements including GMPs, SOPs, SQF, HACCP, and food safety programs.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance, R&D, and Sanitation teams to maintain product quality and resolve production challenges.
- Support safety initiatives by enforcing safety policies, participating in investigations, and implementing corrective actions.
- Administer employee attendance, timekeeping, and corrective actions in coordination with HR as needed.
- Identify and recommend opportunities for continuous improvement and cost reduction.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in food manufacturing, preferably in meat or protein processing.
- At least 2 years of supervisory or lead experience in a production environment.
- Proven leadership skills in team development, performance management, and employee engagement.
- Strong understanding of GMPs, HACCP, OSHA, and other regulatory standards in food processing.
- Experience working under FDA or similar regulatory oversight preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and production reporting systems.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to lead diverse teams.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency is a plus.
