Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Concrete Superintendent to oversee and manage all aspects of concrete construction projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of concrete construction processes, a strong commitment to quality and safety, and proven leadership skills to effectively coordinate crews, materials, and schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Management: Supervise and manage all concrete-related activities on construction sites, including planning, scheduling, and execution of work to meet project deadlines.
- Team Leadership: Direct and oversee concrete crews, subcontractors, and site personnel to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality results.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect work to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards. Address and resolve any issues related to concrete placement or finishing.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and practices to maintain a safe work environment. Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections.
- Material Management: Coordinate the delivery, storage, and utilization of materials to minimize waste and ensure availability.
- Scheduling and Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to integrate concrete work into the overall construction timeline.
- Problem Solving: Address unforeseen issues on-site and provide solutions to minimize project delays and maintain quality standards.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of daily activities, progress, and any incidents. Prepare and submit reports as required.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Concrete Superintendent or similar role in construction.
- In-depth knowledge of concrete construction techniques, tools, and materials.
- Strong understanding of construction plans, blueprints, and specifications.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Proficient in scheduling software and construction management tools (preferred).
- OSHA certification or equivalent safety training (preferred).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift, carry, and handle materials up to 50 pounds.
- Prolonged standing, walking, and other physical activities required on a construction site.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field (preferred).
