POSITION SUMMARY
The Qualified Developmental Disabilities Professional (QIDP) is responsible for developing/supervising habilitation services for persons with intellectual disabilities and ensuring the plan of care is implemented appropriately.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise the habilitation process of each individual enrolled in services
  • Monitor and document process of individuals to include: data collection, periodic progress reports, and other documentation as stipulated by state governing bodies or by company management.
  • Develop and supervise implementation of support plans and closely monitor staff for correct implementation and effectiveness.
  • Plan and coordinate activities in the home and community.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with staff, individuals served, families, case managers, and other agencies.
  • Manage health and safety of individuals through preventive techniques, provide management of minor illnesses or injuries, and render assistance in medical and/or behavioral emergency. .
  • Maintain and implement ongoing compliance with federal and state regulations/standards including Medicaid Waiver.
  • Attend meetings and in-service training as scheduled and conduct in-service training to direct care staffing as needed.
  • Share on-call responsibilities and confer with team members as necessary.

This is not intended to be all inclusive and the employee will also perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by supervisory and/or administrative personnel.

EDUCATION/BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services field with an emphasis on behavioral science
  • A minimum of one year of verifiable work experience directly related to the care of people with intellectual disabilities is preferred
  • Be able to pass all pre-employment screenings including background check
  • Able to obtain & maintain certification First Aid/ CPR, aggressive behavior management, medication assistance and other training as defined by governing bodies or the corporation.
  • Currently certified as a QDDP by ADMH or able to obtain certification with 90 days of employment

  • Communicate effectively with internal and external personnel, both verbally and in writing.
  • Exhibit strong motivational, team building and supervisory skills.
  • Ability to communicate and interact and to work effectively with a wide range of consumers, family members, and care providers in a diverse community.
  • Ability to motivate teams and simultaneously manage several projects.
  • Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $42,000.00 per year
