Grammar School Latin and/or Art Teacher

Sterling Classical School is seeking a part-time Grammar School Latin and/or Art Teacher to provide engaging, Christ-centered Latin instruction for students in the Grammar School. The ideal candidate demonstrates a love for Christ, a passion for classical Christian education, and the ability to cultivate both academic excellence and Christian character in students.

Responsibilities

● Teach Latin using the school’s approved curriculum.

● Prepare and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons.

● Foster a joyful, orderly, Christ-centered classroom environment.

● Assess student progress and maintain accurate records.

● Communicate effectively with parents, faculty, and administration.

● Participate in required faculty meetings and professional development.

Art Teacher Responsibilities (if assigned)

- Plan and teach engaging, age-appropriate art lessons that cultivate creativity, craftsmanship, and an appreciation for beauty from a biblical worldview.

- Introduce students to a variety of artistic techniques, media, and notable artists throughout history.

- Foster a joyful, orderly classroom environment that encourages creativity, diligence, and excellence.

- Prepare materials, maintain the art classroom, and care for supplies and equipment.

- Display student artwork throughout the school and assist with art showcases or school events as appropriate.

Qualifications

● Committed follower of Jesus Christ who affirms the school’s Statement of Faith.

● Bachelor’s degree required; Latin, Classical Studies, Education, or related field preferred.

● Teaching experience preferred.

● Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.

● Appreciation for or willingness to learn classical Christian education.

This is a part-time position. Compensation is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Pay: From $30.00 per hour
