Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Activity Aide to join our team on a PRN (as-needed), every other weekend basis. In alignment with our mission to enhance the quality of life for the residents we serve, this role is responsible for assisting in the planning and implementation of engaging programs that support residents’ physical, emotional, and psychosocial well-being.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and assist with recreational activities for residents, including group, small group, and one-on-one programs
Encourage resident participation and provide meaningful engagement
Observe, document, and report resident attendance, participation, and behavioral changes
Support care planning by communicating resident preferences and needs to the interdisciplinary team
Welcome and orient new residents to activity programs
Coordinate and assist with volunteers as needed
Maintain infection control and safety standards at all times
Ensure resident dignity, privacy, and respect in all interactions
Respond promptly to resident call lights when in care areas
Report concerns, hazards, or equipment issues to the appropriate supervisor
Attend required meetings and in-services
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
Previous experience in an Activity Aide or similar role preferred
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work effectively with residents, families, and team members
Basic computer skills required
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Healthcare setting with frequent interaction with residents
Requires walking, standing, bending, and lifting (20 lbs)
May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions and contagious illnesses
Schedule
PRN (as-needed) position
Every other weekend required
Must be flexible to work holidays and during inclement weather as needed
