Position Summary
Provides on-site support for the reprocessing of flexible endoscopes and related devices and

Duties
- Cleans, disinfects, or calibrates scopes or other endoscopic instruments according to
- Operates all mechanical machinery within the department such as, but not limited to, Automatic
- Learns and trains in all assigned areas, such as, but not limited to decontamination, clean area,
- Maintains inventory of endoscopic equipment and supplies.
- Performs safety checks to verify proper equipment functioning.
- Understands and promotes concepts of the Lean work environment.
- Communicates in a professional manner to all hospital staff and company employees.
- Refers all decisions beyond personal scope of responsibility to their Managers and/or STERIS
- Participates in in-services and educational offerings provided by STERIS in the facility.
- Responds and supports requests made by STERIS leadership or Customer with ensuring
- Uses established policies and procedures to complete work assignments.
- Report’s repair needs and/or machine failures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education Degree
- High School Diploma or GED
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 0-1 years of sterile processing experience with scope experience, endoscopy, or transferrable experience
- Must obtain Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor (CFER) or Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER)
- Must maintain certification by completing Continuing Education Credit Hours (CEU’s) in accordance
Preferred Experience
- Completion of a Sterile Processing/Surgical Technologist such as Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and
- Awareness of one of the education topics: Microbiology and Infection Control, Endoscope
Transport, and Storage, Endoscope Tracking, Repair, and System Maintenance, Human Factors

Skills
- Awareness of LEAN concepts and ability to translate this in the work environment preferred.
- Communicates in a professional manner to all hospital staff, Customers and company employees
- Understands basic technical jargon within Endo department.
- Broad understanding of instruments and department equipment.
- Must be a team player and demonstrate flexibility to work in all areas of the department to meet
- Basic computer skills and aptitude.
- Medical instrument knowledge.
- Ability to work daily in a fast-paced, high pressure Healthcare Service environment.
