Picture this: it’s early morning, and you roll out in your take-home company van toward a busy hospital in Mississippi. Central Sterile is counting on you—their trusted STERIS advisor—to deep clean and service large sterilizer chambers so clinicians can rely on safe, sterile instruments. You thrive in fast-paced, high-stakes healthcare environments, keeping complex mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electronic equipment performing at its best.

What your day looks like

• Arrive on site and connect with the Customer, updating them on your plan, timing, and next steps. You represent STERIS professionally and proactively at every interaction.
• Prepare and adjust chemical solutions, monitor cleaning cycles and pressures, and perform hands-on chamber cleaning following strict safety protocols. You’ll handle, transport, and dispose of chemicals responsibly.
• Perform basic maintenance and minor repairs on chamber-cleaning tools and related equipment; flag and consult the appropriate Field Service contact for issues outside scope.
• Coordinate routes and schedules with the Scheduling Team and your Supervisor for efficient coverage within the assigned territory.
• Use a company-issued smartphone, laptop, and software to document work, complete reports, and keep stakeholders informed.
• Maintain accountability for your company vehicle, equipment, supplies, and parts inventory—ensuring safe operation and timely escalation of any issues.

Where you’ll work & travel

• Remote, field-based, Customer-facing role.
• Frequent travel: typically 40–50% overnight. Most trips are by company van you keep at home; occasional air travel as needed.
• Primary territory: Mississippi, with overlap into Louisiana, Arkansas, Alabama, and parts of Tennessee. Expect 50% overnight travel in this area when demand spikes.
• Full-time schedule that can include weekend days; shifts may rotate between mornings, afternoons, and nights to meet Customer needs.

What you bring

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3 years of work experience, including at least 1 year in a technical or service trade (e.g., sterile processing, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, construction, automotive).
• An associate degree, relevant certifications, or military experience may count toward the experience requirement.
• Valid driver’s license and comfort driving a company van.
• Flexibility to work outside standard business hours, with overtime, weekends, and up to 50% overnight travel.
• Comfort with basic computer tasks and mobile apps; able to complete documentation accurately.
• Clear, confident communicator who builds rapport with Customers and internal partners.
• Organized, solutions-focused, and able to work independently without supervision.
