A day in this roleYou start from home, review your schedule, and head to your first hospital in a company vehicle. Inside sterile processing and surgical areas, you diagnose and fix STERIS and competitor equipment — from sterilizers to washer-disinfectors and related systems. You balance preventive maintenance, service and warranty calls, installations, and field upgrades, all while documenting work in our mobile platforms to meet regulatory requirements.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain medical equipment, systems, and components.
- Own your schedule and prioritize Customer and business needs to hit PMs, service calls, installs, and upgrades.
- Collaborate with Tech Support, Engineering, and Service Contract Management to resolve complex issues and escalate appropriately.
- Record findings and actions in advanced digital tools to remain compliant and ensure traceability.
- Advise Customers on repair options and pricing; partner with Sales (with management support) to elevate the Customer experience and identify revenue opportunities.
- Support multiple facilities across your assigned territory based on service agreements and need.

Important informationThis role requires daily travel by driving a company vehicle. If offered this position, STERIS will run a 7 year driving record check, as part of our onboarding process. An acceptable driving record generally means a driver has a very limited number of moving violations, accidents, or driving-related convictions.
What you bring- High school diploma or GED and 4 years of work experience, including at least 2 years in a mechanical/technical capacity. An associate degree, relevant certifications, competitive equipment training, or related military experience may count toward the technical requirement.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to satisfy background and physical assessments required for vendor credentialing.
- Experience engaging with Customers and collaborating with teammates.
- Clear written and verbal communication.
- Basic computer proficiency (Windows, email, navigation, mobile apps, and entering data across multiple systems).
- Flexibility for early/late hours and occasional overnights to meet Customer and business needs.
People with hands-on backgrounds such as HVAC, mechanics, maintenance, refrigeration, boilers/chillers, diesel/automotive, aviation repair, plumbing, or electrical often excel. Proficiency in the following is a plus:

Salary : $55,250 - $71,500
