As a remote, field-based technician, you’ll diagnose issues, repair complex electro-mechanical systems, and support installations that directly impact patient care.
A Day in the Life- Arrive onsite prepared to troubleshoot and repair STERIS and competitor systems used in surgical procedures.
- Plan your schedule independently to complete preventive maintenance, service and warranty calls, installations, field upgrades, and other assignments.
- Document work thoroughly using advanced digital tools to meet regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Partner with Tech Support, Engineering, and Service Contract Management to escalate complex issues and resolve them efficiently.
- Present customers with clear repair options and pricing; with leadership support, collaborate with Sales to elevate customer experience and identify territory opportunities.
- Support multiple customer sites within your assigned territory based on service agreements and needs.
This is a home-based role; you will be in the field within your territory every day.
Your BackgroundPeople who thrive in this role often come from hands-on trades such as HVAC, refrigeration, boilers/chillers, industrial maintenance, automotive/diesel, aviation repair, plumbing, electrical, or general equipment repair.
Qualifications- High School Diploma or GED and 4 years of work experience, including at least 2 years in a mechanical/technical capacity. An Associate degree, relevant certifications, competitive equipment training, or related military experience may count toward the technical requirement.
- Experience engaging with customers and collaborating within a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Basic computer proficiency (Windows, email, navigation, mobile apps, and data entry across multiple systems).
- Availability for flexible schedules, which may include early/late hours and occasional overnights based on customer and business needs.
Valid driver’s license and the ability meet all required background and physical assessment elements to obtain and maintain existing and new vendor credentialing requirements.
