What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance-In-Training (MIT) position at Sterilite Corporation?
- Assist and train in the machine maintenance department.
- Recover hydraulic oil from injection molding machines.
- Clean molding machines and report any leaks or other problems to the Machine Maintenance Supervisor.
- Assist in the set-up and removal of the molds from the injection molding machines.
- Clean work area, tools and equipment.
- Operate fork truck as required.
- Assist and train in the performance of repairs when training is possible.
Must be able to work 12-hour shifts in alternate 3 and 4-day work cycles.- No minimum related experience and/or education.
- The ability to learn and retain information regarding machines and tools, including their designs, benefits, uses, repair and maintenance.
- Must possess good communication, organization, and scheduling skills.
- Must be able to quickly make coordinated movements of one hand, a hand together with its arms, or two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
- The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach out with the body, arms, and/or legs.
- The ability to keep the hand and arm steady while making an arm movement or while holding the arm and hand in one position.
- The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull or carry objects.
- The ability to keep or regain one's body balance or stay upright when in an unstable position.
- The ability to use one's abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously without "giving out" or fatiguing.
- The ability to kneel, crouch or crawl for extended periods.
- The ability to work in high as well as cramped spaces.
- The ability to repeatedly lift or carry 10 - 30 pounds as well as occasionally lift and/or hold 10 – 20 pounds overhead.
- Considerable use of arms and legs, and moving your entire body, for example, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
