POSITION: Outpatient Peer Support Specialist

LOCATION: Elizabethtown, Kentucky

QUALIFICATIONS:

• high school diploma or equivalent
• be willing to obtain and maintain Peer Support Specialist Certification in Kentucky
• familiarity with various recovery models: 12 Step, Rational Recovery, faithbased initiatives, medicationassisted treatment (MAT)

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TRAINING:

• coach and model recovery
• manage a caseload
• facilitate group and individual sessions
• help patients navigate life circumstances (rent, obtaining food stamps, etc.)
• help patients define their personal recovery goals
• teach and model coping techniques and selfhelp strategies
• empower patients to overcome and combat the stigma of addiction
• support medicationassisted addiction recovery when appropriate
• support whichever recovery strategy works best for the individual patient
• participate in monthly supervision with clinical supervisor
• maintain peer support certification under the direction of the Sober Living Director
• complete training in crisisintervention, standard first aid, and CPR by a certified instructor

SHIFT: Monday - Friday, rotating call schedule
