STR Behavioral Health – Lehigh Valley is a premier substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health disorder outpatient program with a new location coming to Lehigh Valley, PA. For both substance use disorder and mental health clients, we will offer separate programs for each population. Our programs will include partial hospitalization treatment, intensive outpatient treatment (day and night programs), and outpatient care, all with the support of a psychiatric provider, licensed clinicians, and experienced professionals. Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) options as well as psychiatric medication management will be offered at all levels of care. Schedule: Full-time 32 hours Per Week
Monday 9a-4p, Tuesday 10a-7p, Wednesday 9a-4p, Thursday 10a-7p
Position Summary
This position is responsible for the health and safety of all clients. This position assesses and prescribes appropriate medications as well as assess medical and psychiatric issues/ concerns and makes appropriate referrals. This position consults with the treatment team on primary diagnosis and co-occurring issues.
Relationships and Contacts
Within the organization: Establish and maintain productive working relationships with peers and accounting team members throughout STR Behavioral Health and affiliated facilities.
Outside the organization: Establish and maintain productive working relationships with third party vendors, as necessary.
Position Responsibilities
- Maintaining a safe and secure environment
- Help Clients by providing information, services, and assistance
- Prescribe Detoxification medication regimens that are safe, appropriate, and effective for clients with substance use disorder
- Routine checkups and Medication checks for clients in services
- Conducting follow up and evaluation of client physical and psychiatric conditions.
- Prescribe medications as necessary and check on the efficacy of medication regimen
- Document clinical, medical, and psychiatric treatments and recommendations
- Pre-screen and approve potential clients by reviewing psych and medical records for admission
- Order Lab work and UAs as needed
- Complete Psychiatric Evaluations for every admitting client
- Complete physical for every admitting client
- Make referrals to specialist as needed
- Order and administer Vivitrol as needed
- Consult with the treatment team
- Complete progress notes as needed
- Support Nursing staff.
Minimum Requirements
Education and Experience
Certified in the state of Pennsylvania as a CRNP or Physician’s Assistant. A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Detoxification and/or Residential Setting, preferably in substance abuse or mental health. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A willingness to work with a clinical team to make recommendations and implement strategies that will benefit clients. Willingness to take calls during afterhours days and times.
Additional Requirements
- Position requires incumbent to have a valid driver’s license
- Clearance of TB test, and any other mandatory state/federal requirements.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
