What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substance Use Disorder Counselor (SUDC) position at Steps Recovery Center LLC?
Come join our dynamic team at our Orem, UT location. Steps Recovery Center is an accredited facility specializing in drug and alcohol treatment. Steps was created to provide those persons suffering from drug addiction and alcoholism with a compassionate and professional environment. We also provide a continuing treatment plan. Steps Recovery Center is proud of our ability to therapeutically integrate AA and NA 12 Steps into an individualized treatment program.
Steps Recovery Center is looking for an energetic SUDC to join our team. The SUDC will be responsible for counseling patients and/or families with alcohol and drug dependency. This position works as part of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals and provides both individual and group counseling.
This position will carry a caseload of patients and assist them with their journey to recovery.
Requirements:
- Current SUDC license required
- At least 2 years of experience in substance abuse counseling preferred.
- Knowledgeable of community resources available for patients and families.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of counseling techniques, substance use disorders, and recovery principles.
- Ability to set appropriate professional boundaries.
- Minimum of 1 year sobriety.
As an SUDC, you will be expected to contribute to and support the clinical curriculum. The treatment team will assist in this process. Curriculum development may include facilitating AA or NA meetings and assigned recovery-based written work.
