Steps was created to provide those persons suffering from drug addiction, alcoholism, and mental health with a compassionate and professional environment.
Steps Recovery Center is looking for an talented, energetic cook to join our team at St. George Residential. The cook would be responsible for preparing quality lunch and dinner for large groups (20). This position would also include placing food orders, cleaning, stocking and managing the kitchen with high standards of quality, sanitation and safety.
Requirements:
- Food Handler's Permit
- Valid Driver's License
- Two (2) years of dining services experience in commercial, institutional, industrial or military food service operation experience in food service production/preparation. Experience should include an understanding of adherence to prescribed menus, and the utilization of raw materials and large-scale recipes to prepare and modify meals as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Planning menus, approved by dietitian
- Properly prepares food that is appetizing and proper temperatures
- Use food service equipment properly
- Follows good safety practices
- Kitchen inventory
- Follows proper sanitation procedures for the handling of food and the cleaning of food service area.
- Complies with the Utah Health Inspection Rules and Regulations
- Inspects food and food service supplies for accurate quantity and condition upon arrival to facility
- Places weekly food orders
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned
