STEPS Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Services
Position Title: Case Manager
Status: Full-Time/Salary
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
College degree or its equivalent through some combination of formal education, work and life experiences (3 to 5 years). Must possess personal qualities of patience and empathy. Must be flexible and work as a team player. Must be oriented toward developing the potential of victims of domestic violence and their children.
General Summary:
Under the supervision of the Director of Victim Services, the case manager will be responsible for developing and coordinating all aspects of services for adult clients and all aspects of the children’s program . Must work together to share information with other advocates to better help our clients resolve conflict and work towards self-sufficiency.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provides trauma-informed case management support services to sheltered clients.
2. Assisting in long term goal setting surrounding housing, educational advancement, and economic opportunity.
3. Provided safety-planning for victims of domestic and sexual assault.
4. Provides resources and referrals and works with community partners to meet the needs of clients.
5. Provide individual counseling for adults and children.
6. Maintains client documentation on weekly basis and keep files current.
7. Provide danger assessment and educate client in understanding the outcome.
8. Provides court advocacy and hospital response/advocacy as needed.
9. Provide transportation for clients when needed.
10. Schedule and facilitate domestic violence and educational support groups.
11. Provides training and support to volunteers and interns.
12. Assist parents and children when applying for local social services benefits. (Paperwork, phone calls, transportation)
13. Register children in school and communicate regularly with school personnel.
14. Coordinate regular enrichment activities for the children during the summer and school breaks.
15. Responsible for documenting consistently, completing all relevant forms including intakes, assessments, case management notes, quarterly and monthly grant reports.
16. Enter data into VaData System.
17. Assist with donations.
18. Assist with keeping work areas clean and hold monthly fire drills.
19. Participate in staff meetings, in-service training, out of town training, volunteer training, and assigned MDT meetings.
20. Keep up to date with policies and procedures.
21. Participates in on-call rotation for crisis accompaniment sexual assault services.
22. Practice self-care and encourage other staff and clients to as well.
23. Other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or Director of Victim Services.

11. Ability to correctly assess situations within scope of
responsibility and to make sound judgments within existing
laws, policies, and regulations.

and programs.
13. Ability to plan daily activities to achieve identified goals.
14. Ability to independently problem solve and provide guidance to
other team members and clients.

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
