Pediatric Part- Time Physical Therapist

SteppingStone Day School, Inc., established in 1983, is a large, private, not for profit preschool agency serving young children with and without disabilities. Our mission is to provide collaborative evaluation, education, therapy and family support services so that young children can develop to their full potential and with their families and friends as members of the community.

*This is a contract position for the summer session, with the possibility of extending into the fall.

The primary responsibility of the therapist is to assess children who exhibit musculoskeletal deviations, sensory motor dysfunction, problems with postural control, motor planning and overall gross motor difficulties. It is also the responsibility of the therapist to provide safe, effective treatment for preschool children with developmental disabilities.

The therapist is also responsible to assess the children for orthotic /equipment needs and to consult with the classroom staff regarding positioning of the children in the classroom for optimal learning.

The Physical Therapist will:

• Provide all therapy sessions mandated on a child's IEP.
• Provide ongoing assessment of child's needs and follow-up with appropriate vendors if special equipment is required.
• Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings
• Consult with individual staff members and families regarding discipline specific techniques and approaches.
• Participate parent/family meetings to discuss goals, progress and recommendations.
• Complete and enter session notes into EasyTrac in a timely manner.
• Complete Quarterly Progress Notes and Annual Reports according to indicated timelines.
• Assume responsibility for maintenance and general upkeep of the therapy area, equipment and toys.
• Maintain weekly attendance records and hand in to supervisor at the end of each work week.

Rate: $80.00/hour
