About the Program

Stepping Stones Therapy Center LLC is seeking an experienced Program Director to lead our Clinician-Led Community Response (CLCR) Program in Indianapolis. The CLCR team responds to mental health crises dispatched through the Metropolitan Emergency Services Agency's (MESA) 911 and 988 lines, providing clinical, on-scene support for calls where the need for police, fire, or paramedic response has been ruled out. The program operates across the IMPD Downtown, East, North, South, and West Districts.

Position Overview

Provide operational and clinical leadership for the CLCR Program, overseeing daily operations, staffing, compliance, fleet and equipment management, and community engagement to ensure a consistent, high-quality, 24/7 crisis response.

Funding & Contract Terms

This position is a funded contract role supported by the City of Indianapolis. Continuation of the program and this position beyond the current contract period is contingent on the City's ongoing funding allocation. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide operational leadership to ensure continuous, high-quality 24/7 CLCR service delivery and compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee day-to-day program operations, staffing assignments, and coverage across all shifts, including weekends, holidays, and after-hours.
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and credential contractors
  • Maintain operational records, reports, and documentation; approve contractor invoices and monitor budget adherence.
  • Oversee the readiness, maintenance, and safety of all program vehicles and equipment.
  • Serve as secondary spokesperson and build collaborative relationships with IMPD, EMS, MCAT, hospitals, OPHS, and other community partners.
  • Represent the program at community meetings, town halls, and public forums; support at least 20 outreach or educational events annually.
  • Lead compliance and quality assurance efforts, including monthly team meetings, incident review, and corrective action planning.
  • Meet weekly with the Data Analyst and Clinical Director to review operational and clinical trends and submit weekly reports to the Executive Director and CEO.

Qualifications

  • 5 to 10 years in leadership roles, particularly in mental health services, crisis intervention, or a related field
  • Mid-Management experience is a plus
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing 24/7 operations, staffing, and workforce management.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical compliance, licensing, and regulatory standards, or ability to quickly develop this expertise.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills for engaging community partners.
  • Experience with budget monitoring, reporting, and quality improvement initiatives preferred.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $97,000.00 per year
