Stepping Stones is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team at Blossoms House, a therapeutic group home serving adolescent girls.
The DSP provides direct care, supervision, guidance, and support to youth while helping maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing home environment. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with adolescents and is passionate about helping youth build confidence, independence, and life skills.
Responsibilities
● Provide supervision, guidance, and support to youth in a residential setting.
● Assist with daily living and self-care skills, including hygiene, grooming, laundry, organization, and housekeeping.
● Support youth with emotional regulation, coping skills, communication, and positive decision-making.
● Follow individualized service plans, safety plans, and program expectations.
● Assist with homework, school responsibilities, and academic goals.
● Prepare and Assist with meals
● Assist with medication administration .
● Transport and accompany youth to school, appointments, activities, and community outings.
● Plan and participate in recreational, educational, and life-skills activities.
● Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming home environment.
● Observe and report changes in behavior, mood, or functioning.
● Complete accurate daily shift notes, incident reports, medication documentation, and other required records.
● Maintain confidentiality and uphold youth rights and dignity.
● Participate in required staff meetings and training.
Qualifications
● High school diploma or GED required.
● Experience working with children or adolescents preferred.
● Experience in residential services, behavioral health, foster care, social services, education, or a related field is a plus.
● Strong communication, observation, and documentation skills.
● CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
● Valid driver’s license required.
● Must successfully complete required background checks and pre-employment requirements.
Schedule
Full-Time and Part-Time Opportunities Available
Shifts may include:
● 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
● 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
● 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
● Weekend Shifts
