What are the responsibilities and job description for the We’re Looking for Our People. ECE Professionals. position at Stepping Stones Learning Center of Littleton?
We’re Not Looking for Just Anyone. We’re Looking for Our People.
We’re going to do something a little different with this job posting: we’re going to be upfront.
We know the job market is frustrating on both sides.
Candidates are tired of filling out application after application and hearing nothing back. You’re tired of interviewing only to be ghosted. You want to know whether a workplace is actually what it claims to be before investing your time.
We get it.
On our side, we’re tired too—of sorting through applications from people who aren’t genuinely interested, scheduling interviews with people who don’t show up, or investing our hearts and time into training someone who already sees the position as a temporary stop while waiting for the “next best thing.”
So how about we agree not to waste each other’s time?
We aren’t looking for someone to simply fill an opening.
We want to find our perfect fit—and we want to be yours.
This work matters here.
We believe there is extraordinary power in giving a child an incredible start to life.
Being an early childhood educator means you will teach colors and letters and numbers—but you’ll also teach a two-year-old that someone will come when they cry. You’ll help a preschooler figure out what to do with a feeling that is bigger than their entire body. You’ll celebrate the first successful trip to the potty like someone just won an Olympic medal.
You'll read the same book approximately 4,729 times. You'll answer questions you never imagined another human being would ask. You'll probably go home with paint somewhere you don't remember putting it.
And some days, you'll be tired.
But you'll also get hugs that can turn your entire day around. You'll watch friendships form. You'll see a child finally master something they've worked on for weeks. You'll become someone families trust with the most important people in their lives.
That isn't “just childcare.” And we don't treat it like it is.
We show up for each other.
Showing up here means more than physically walking through the door.
It means arriving on time, dependable, professional and ready to go. It means being mentally present with the children. It means noticing when your teammate needs an extra hand instead of pretending you suddenly can't see them.
It means laughing together. Being ridiculous with kids. Helping clean up a mess you didn't technically make. Communicating. Accepting coaching. Giving grace when someone is having a hard day—and knowing they'll do the same for you.
We want people who genuinely want to be part of a work family.
A team where you know the people beside you have your back.
Where you're supported, coached and encouraged to grow.
Where your ideas matter.
Where you're valued not simply because we need someone in ratio, but because you bring something important to the lives of our children and to our team.
What will you actually do?
You'll create engaging learning experiences, build meaningful relationships with children and families, support children's social-emotional development, follow classroom routines and curriculum, supervise children carefully, maintain safe and welcoming environments, communicate with your teaching team, complete required documentation and professional development, and meet Colorado licensing requirements.
You'll also wipe noses, open approximately one billion snack packages, mediate passionate disagreements over toys, sing songs you swore you'd never sing outside of work, occasionally wear something absurd because it makes children laugh, and discover that tiny humans have an astonishing ability to lose their shoes.
Professionalism and fun absolutely can coexist here.
Please only apply if…
You are looking for long-term employment and a place where you can grow.
You believe early childhood education is meaningful work—not something to do until something else comes along.
You understand that reliability matters enormously when children and coworkers are counting on you.
You want to contribute to a positive impact on children, their families and your work family.
You want to feel welcomed, supported, appreciated and valued while also being willing to provide those things to the people around you.
And if we invite you to an in-person interview, you intend to show up. If you're offered a position, you're ready to start with your best foot forward and give yourself a genuine opportunity to become part of this team.
If you're applying everywhere just to see what sticks, looking for something temporary, or already planning your next move before you've made this one, this probably isn't your place—and that's okay.
But if you're reading this thinking:
“THIS. This is what I've been looking for.”
We really want to meet you.
Because we're not looking for a warm body in a classroom.
We're looking for another person who believes childhood matters. Someone who wants to belong somewhere, grow somewhere, laugh somewhere, and do work they can be proud of.
If that's you, apply.
Let's find out if we're each other's perfect fit.
