Duties
- Develop and execute age-appropriate lesson plans that incorporate literacy education, math concepts, and foundational skills aligned with early childhood education standards.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that promotes social-emotional development and positive behavior management.
- Support children with diverse needs, including those with autism or disabilities, by adapting activities and implementing specialized strategies such as Montessori or behavior management techniques.
- Manage classroom routines effectively, including transitions, meal times, nap times, and outdoor activities.
- Utilize classroom management skills to maintain discipline and encourage cooperative play among children.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding children’s progress, behaviors, and developmental milestones.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum content that enhances learning experiences across subjects like literacy, math, and early childhood development.
- Maintain accurate documentation of children’s growth, attendance, and behavioral observations in compliance with licensing requirements.
- Stay current with best practices in early childhood education by participating in ongoing professional development related to special education, toddler care, preschool experience, or working with children with disabilities.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times by adhering to health guidelines and safety protocols.
Experience
- Prior experience working with young children in daycare settings or private schools is highly preferred, but not required.
- Proven ability to manage classroom behavior effectively using positive reinforcement strategies.
- Familiarity with working with children who have special needs or developmental delays such as autism spectrum disorder or other disabilities is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills for engaging with children, parents, colleagues, and support staff professionally and empathetically.
- Classroom experience involving behavior management techniques and working within licensed childcare environments is desirable.
