School Chef

Stepping Stones ELC (Childcare Center) is looking for a Chef/Kitchen Manager to begin immediately. This position will cook for and manage our Blaine childcare center kitchen. Daytime hours, M-F. No weekends, no holidays (paid)!

Desirable candidate must have experience working in a kitchen setting, be able to work independently or collaborate with a team, have a strong knowledge of food allergies/dietary restrictions, understand food costs/portions for children and have knowledge of placing food and supply orders with venders. Candidate must have Minnesota Food Manager Certificate or must obtain prior to start date. This position requires working in a kitchen that serves food to children 6 weeks to 12 years of age. Previous employment at a childcare center or related experience is highly desired, but not required. Job duties include preparing breakfasts, lunches and snacks for the entire Center (cooking and baking), creating monthly menus, offering cooking classes/demos for students, ordering and pricing food and prep/clean-up work. Will need to manage other kitchen employees (dishwasher, etc.) Typical hours of position would be roughly 7:00 am - 3:00, M-F.

- Must pass criminal background check

- Must be able to work in the kitchen as well as general center help, cooking demonstrations and building help

- Must have a valid driver license and reliable transportation
