What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Duty Wrecker and Heavy Duty Rotator Operator -Class A CDL Required position at Stepp's Towing?
Stepp's Towing and Heavy Transport is looking to add Heavy Duty Tow Truck Operators to our team! We are seeking candidates that possess a positive attitude, customer service skills, and problem-solving abilities. The best fit candidate will possess a Class A CDL with a minimum of 2 years of verifiable driving experience. Heavy Duty Towing experience required.
All drivers must be equipped with their own set of tools once you are assigned the truck. No Slip Seating! Manual transmissions only in our fleet.
Job Description:
The ideal candidate must be able to do the following:
- Operate Heavy Tow Trucks, Rollback, and Service Trucks to efficiently complete the job assigned.
- Respond to Florida’s Traffic Incident Management Program, RISC, (Rapid Incident Scene Clearance).
- Work comfortably and safely at accident scenes in traffic and cooperate well with law enforcement to complete the job assigned.
- Communicate well with dispatchers and customers.
- Effectively operate GPS mapping
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Work in all weather conditions.
Physical Requirements for the Position Include:
- Lifting, crawling, pulling, constant use of hands, significant bending and reaching, climbing, significant physical strength and stamina.
Qualifications:
- Class A CDL License required w/ 2 years of verifiable experience
- Current DOT Medical Card
- Must be registered in the DOT Clearinghouse
- Must be able to pass background check /drug test.
- Clean Driving Record
- Possess great Customer Service/Communication Skills

Schedule:
Various shifts due to team scheduling that permit drivers to have 1-2 days off during the week or 1-2 weekends off. We also have a night shift schedule with a higher commission rate incentive. Apply for more details.
Commissioned Pay:
Graduated commission pay scale starting at 25%- Our drivers average $1,800-$2,000 weekly. This pay structure should not be misconstrued as a salary paid position.
