Duties
- Lead hands-on STEM activities and experiments tailored to various age groups
- Manage classroom behavior and ensure a positive learning environment through effective behavior management techniques
- Develop lesson plans that align with educational standards and promote critical thinking
- Supervise children during after-school hours, ensuring safety and engagement at all times
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and staff to support student progress and address individual needs
- Maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom environment
- Incorporate elements of special education or accommodations as needed to support diverse learners
- Implement safety protocols including basic first aid when necessary
- Foster a love of learning by integrating fun, creative approaches such as theater or sports coaching elements when appropriate
Qualifications
- Prior experience with children in settings such as daycare, camp counseling, tutoring, or babysitting is highly desirable
- Strong classroom management skills and experience with behavior management strategies
- Background in early childhood education or childhood development preferred
- Experience working with students with special needs or in inclusive classrooms is a plus
- Knowledge of first aid procedures and certification is advantageous
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage children through interactive teaching methods
- Passion for STEM education and inspiring young learners to explore science and technology topics
- Experience in theater, sports coaching, Christian counseling, or childcare can enhance the ability to create dynamic learning experiences
