Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide essential support and care to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, long-term care environments, and home community care. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting clients with daily living activities, ensuring their safety and well-being, and promoting their independence while fostering a positive environment.
Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Monitor and document vital signs and changes in client health status. Administer medication.
- Provide patient observation to ensure safety and comfort, reporting any concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Engage clients in activities to enhance cognitive function and social interaction.
- Facilitate communication between clients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by adhering to health and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques and vital signs assessment is essential.
- Strong observational skills with the ability to recognize changes in client behavior or health status.
- Excellent communication skills with a compassionate approach towards client interaction.
- Certification in CPR/First Aid is advantageous but not mandatory; training may be provided.
