What are the responsibilities and job description for the Small Engines Parts Clerk position at Stephens Garage?
Here at Stephens Garage, we are looking for a friendly face to assist in sales and maintaining the parts department. You will be responsible for ensuring functionality and reliability of parts sold to customers, as well as, maintaining updated customer billing. An efficient sales person must have a welcoming personality and basic knowledge of counter sales. They must be able to work well with others and assist customers to the best of their ability.
Responsibilities: Build and maintain relationships with customers. Provide consultation on correct parts and sales. Undertake other duties as assigned (e.g. creating repair tickets, inventorying parts and putting them away etc.) Keep logs of work and report on issues.
Skills: Proven experience with computers, electrical and other systems and their components. Aptitude in using various simple hand tools (screwdrivers, hammers etc.) and precision measurement tools (e.g. calipers). Ability to follow established procedures and practices and read instruction, part manuals. A strong commitment to all health and safety guidelines. Very good communication skills. A problem-solving ability. Very good physical strength and stamina. High school diploma is preferred; Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is a definite plus. Valid drivers license.
