Qualifications:
College hours for Title I campus 48 required or a score of 464 on the ParaPro test
College hours, high school diploma or GED preferred for non-Title I campus.
Fluent in both oral and written English and Arabic
Ability to work with students and teachers
Ability to manage a flexible schedule
School office experience or volunteer experience preferred
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work within deadlines
Paraprofessional aide certificate required once employed
Primary Purpose:
The primary purpose of this position is to collaborate with the Campus EB Specialist, ESL teacher, and core content-area teacher(s) to provide high-quality ESL support to elementary EB students. Additionally, provide exception language support at the district’s discretion.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with ESL and content teachers in the classroom as needed.
- Facilitate targeted small group instruction based on EB students’ language proficiency levels and individual student needs.
- Understand and implement the state and district’s ESL Program Model in alignment with policies, rules, and regulations regarding EB students.
- Administer oral and written tests to EB students as needed, including serving on a rotational basis at the EL (English Learner) Testing Center.
- Provide oral and written communication in exception language as requested by the Office of Other Languages and teachers.
- Maintain the confidentiality of students and administration.
- Other duties as assigned.

Maintain emotional control under stress. Moderate standing, stooping, bending, and lifting. Exposure to hot and cold temperatures.
