Position Summary:
The Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) provides confidential, individual counseling services to students to support their emotional, social, and academic well-being. The LPC works collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and families to promote mental health awareness and ensure students receive the support and resources they need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual counseling sessions to students addressing issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, relationships, and academic challenges.
- Conduct intake assessments and develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each student’s needs.
- Use evidence-based counseling techniques and interventions in alignment with ethical and professional standards.
- Maintain accurate and confidential clinical documentation in compliance with state and organizational policies.
- Collaborate with school staff, parents, and external providers to coordinate student care while maintaining confidentiality.
- Coordinates with school counselors on delivering services.
- Participate in crisis intervention and provide immediate emotional support when necessary.
- Facilitate referrals to outside agencies or specialized services as appropriate.

- Attend regular supervision, team meetings, and professional development sessions.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, or related field from an accredited institution.
- Active LPC license (or LPC-Associate under supervision, if applicable) in the state of Georgia.
- Experience providing counseling to children and/or adolescents, preferably in an educational or youth setting.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and crisis management skills.
- Knowledge of ethical guidelines, confidentiality laws (FERPA/HIPPA), and culturally competent counseling practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in school-based mental health or youth counseling programs.
- Training in trauma-informed care, CBT, DBT, or play therapy.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish or other languages).
Work Environment:
- School or campus-based office setting.
- Regular interaction with students, parents, and staff.
- May require occasional evening or weekend hours for events or crisis response.
