Job Qualifications
Education & Experience

High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree in accounting, business, or related field preferred

Two or more years of bookkeeping, accounting, or financial clerical experience, preferably in a school or government setting
Knowledge & Skills

Strong understanding of basic accounting principles, including debits/credits, reconciliation, and financial reporting

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and comfort with spreadsheets and data entry

Ability to maintain accurate financial records, receipts, ledger accounts, and audit-ready documentation

Knowledge of school financial procedures, purchasing guidelines, fund management, or state/district policies (if applicable)

Strong organizational and time-management skills

Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding student, staff, and financial information

Strong communication and customer service skills, working effectively with staff, vendors, and the public
