Job Summary:
Stephens County Middle School is seeking a qualified and compassionate School Nurse to support the health and well-being of students and staff. The school nurse provides direct health services, promotes wellness, ensures compliance with health regulations, and supports a safe and healthy learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide first aid, illness care, and emergency nursing services to students and staff

Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and district policies

Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and Emergency Action Plans

Maintain accurate health records and documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations
-
Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate care with emergency responders

Collaborate with administrators, teachers, counselors, and support staff

Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student health concerns

Ensure compliance with immunization requirements and public health guidelines

Promote health education and disease prevention initiatives

Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized health clinic
Qualifications:

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the State of Georgia (required)

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification

Knowledge of school health services, child/adolescent health, and public health practices

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience as a school nurse or pediatric nurse

Knowledge of special education health requirements

Experience working in an educational or youth-focused setting
