Position Summary:
The Quality Coordinator supports the company’s quality management system (QMS) by maintaining documentation, monitoring compliance, and coordinating quality-related activities across departments. This role helps ensure products, processes, and services meet internal standards as well as customer and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update quality documentation including SOPs, work instructions, forms, and training materials.
- Support internal audits by preparing schedules, gathering documentation, and assisting auditors.
- Monitor nonconforming material reports (NCRs), corrective actions (CAPAs), and follow-up activities to ensure timely closure.
- Coordinate supplier quality issues and work with the procurement team to gather data or documentation as needed.
- Assist in root cause analysis and problem-solving sessions.
- Track quality metrics and prepare weekly/monthly reports for leadership.
- Support training initiatives related to quality processes and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards or other industry-specific quality requirements.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects focused on safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Serve as a liaison between production, engineering, operations, and quality leadership.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree or equivalent relevant experience; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in quality assurance, quality control, manufacturing, or related areas.
- ISO 9001: 2015 expertise
- Internal auditing skills- planning, conducting reporting and following up on audits; familiarity with audit checklists and sampling.
- Document control & compliance: Managing procedures, work instructions, records, and revision control.
- Corrective/Preventive Actions (CAPA): Root cause analysis, 8D, and effectiveness verification.
- Communication & diplomacy: Ability to interview auditees, explain findings, and influence without authority.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Travel-Able to travel to other Midwest locations 6 times a year.
Nice to have but not required:
-ISO 9001 Internal Auditor Certification (Lead Auditor is a strong plus for supplier audits).
Familiarity with risk assessment tools (FMEA, SWOT) and process KPIs.
-PPAP experience: Ability to review and support Production Part Approval Process documentation and submissions
-Food/bev: GMP, HACCP
-Medical: ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR 820.
