Position Overview: We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and organized individual to join our small, close-knit team. This is a unique and meaningful role that supports families during some of the most difficult moments in their lives and requires a high level of professionalism, empathy, and attention to detail.
This is a hands-on role that includes both operational responsibilities and direct interaction with families. While previous experience or licensing is preferred, it is not required — we are willing to train the right individual.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform removals of the deceased from hospitals, nursing homes, or residences and transport to the crematory
- Care for the deceased with dignity and respect throughout all stages of the cremation process
- Complete all required documentation related to cremation procedures and equipment maintenance
- Accurately prepare and process death certificate paperwork in compliance with state regulations
- Support funeral services and visitations to ensure services run smoothly
- Greet and assist families and visitors, providing guidance with professionalism and compassion
- Provide excellent customer service to families during sensitive and emotional situations
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and overall presentation of the facility
Qualifications & Skills
- Compassionate, empathetic, and respectful in working with families and the deceased
- Comfortable working in emotionally sensitive situations and supporting families during times of loss
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally (both written and verbal)
- Good judgment and problem-solving ability
- Assist with removals in a respectful and professional manner, including lifting, transferring, and transporting deceased individuals using a stretcher and other appropriate equipment
- Flexible and dependable — willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts as needed
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Pay: $45,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
