Lead and manage capital projects (typically $0-$10MM) at a PSM chemical manufacturing facility using Stepan’s Stage-Gated Project Delivery Process from Front-End Loading (FEL) through start-up. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with world-class safety performance.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage a team of 2 direct reports.
- Lead cross-functional project teams to define scope, evaluate options, and align stakeholders.
- Manage projects through FEL phases, construction, and start-up.
- Oversee engineering contractors to ensure complete and accurate deliverables.
- Monitor and control scope, schedule, budget, and risks.
- Coordinate with EHS and Construction Engineering teams for permitting and execution.
- Develop and manage procurement plans, contracts, and invoices.
- Ensure quality assurance and participate in commissioning.
- Communicate project status, budgets, and forecasts to stakeholders.
- Manage a team of 2 direct reports plus contract engineers.
- Mentor junior staff and collaborate with plant leadership and supply chain teams.
- Tailor communications for diverse audiences, from frontline workers to leadership.
- 10-15 years managing capital projects in PSM industries (chemical, petrochemical, refining).
- Proven experience leading projects from chartering to commissioning.
- Strong background in process equipment, electrical infrastructure, and controls.
- Skilled in team leadership, problem-solving, and stakeholder influence.
- Proficient in MS Office and Teams; MS Project, SharePoint, and SAP preferred.
- Able to interpret technical documents and CAD drawings.
- Deep understanding of OSHA and Process Safety Management requirements.
- Physically able to lift 50 lbs and perform field walk-downs, including climbing stairs/ladders and using fall protection.
- Valid driver’s license required.
