Job Summary
This position is responsible for preparing documentation for (Additional Documentation Requests) ADRs and Appeals. The Medical Review Coordinator will pull all necessary documents to compose a thorough, well-organized and timely packet. It is incumbent upon the Medical Review Coordinator to promote a positive working environment and to serve as a role model in the area of professional behavior. The Medical Review Coordinator assumes responsibility for nonclinical input required in the ADR process. The Medical Review Coordinator collaborates with the Clinical Appeals and Quality Improvement Manager, functions as a liaison with facility staff and corporate consultants in an effort to compile necessary documents as requested by payers.
Responsible To
The Medical Review Coordinator reports directly to Clinical Appeals and Quality Improvement Manager and must also take direction from the Corporate Director of Clinical Quality and Compliance and work effectively with facility management and all other consultants.
General Qualifications
• The Medical Review Coordinator is not required to possess any certain degree, credential or designation although an understanding medical documentation is preferred.
• Proficiency in time management, organizational skills and computer skills are required.
• The Medical Review Coordinator must possess a thorough understanding of required components in ADR packet, payer guidelines and requirements.
• They should have experience with Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel. A basic understanding of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) would be helpful.
• Must be able to travel quarterly as requested for training or team meetings.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills are a must.
• Professional attitude and appearance.
Job Description
• Adheres to all company and facility policies and procedures (please refer to your Employee Handbook).
• Pulls all necessary documents from Net Health, PCC and Facility medical record according to policy to compose ADR or Appeal packet.
• In conjunction with Clinical Appeals and Quality Improvement Manager, communicates with facility staff to obtain necessary documentation for ADRs and Appeals.
• Attends weekly virtual meeting with medical review team and closely collaborates with the Clinical Appeals and Quality Improvement Manager throughout week as needed.
• This position requires that the Medical Review Coordinator is able to work an eight-hour day with an unpaid lunch break. S/he must be able to participate in sustained activity for up to four hours at a time.
• Other duties as assigned.
Hours of Work
• Full-time, salaried position. The Medical Review Coordinator is a salaried employee and therefore not eligible for overtime.
• Standard business hours Monday through Friday, flexibility based on workload and departmental needs
