Job Summary : Must be able to work between the hours of 7:00am - 5:00pm All week !
Be able to start December 8th
Must be able to work every other weekend !
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a vital role in enhancing the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities and other support needs. This position involves providing compassionate care, assistance, and support in our day program.
The DSP is responsible for promoting participants rights and fostering independence while ensuring a safe and nurturing atmosphere.
Duties
- Responsible for working in the Day Center
- Ratios 1:4
- Includes Driving to pick up participants
- Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Support clients in achieving their personal goals and enhancing their quality of life through engaging activities.
- Monitor and document vital signs as needed, ensuring the health and well-being of each individual.
- Advocate for participants rights and ensure that all interactions are respectful and dignified.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other team members to develop personalized care plans.
- Provide transportation assistance to clients for appointments or community outings as required.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment in accordance with health standards.
- Participate in training sessions to stay updated on best practices in home care and support for individuals with disabilities.
Requirements
- Previous experience in DSP feild
- Knowledge of participants rights and advocacy for individuals with disabilities is essential.
- Ability to work effectively with people who have developmental disabilities or other support needs.
- Strong communication skills to interact positively with clients, families, and team members.
- Basic cooking skills to prepare nutritious meals for clients as needed.
- Familiarity with monitoring vital signs is a plus but can be learned on the job.
- Compassionate demeanor with a strong commitment to providing high-quality care.
- Must be able to pass background checks as required by state regulations.
- High school diploma / Ged
- Good driving record
