What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinician for Mobile Crisis Response/Community Stabilization position at Step Above Counseling Services LLC?
Step Above is seeking to hire Mental Health Clinicians for Mobile Crisis and Community Stabilization to start working with clients in the Region 5 area when we hope to open our program this summer. These areas include Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Hampton, Newport News, and Portsmouth.
The preferred candidates would provide Mobile Crisis and Crisis Stabilization services to adults, adolescents, and children at imminent risk of hospitalization or an out-of-home placement. You will provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. You will work collaboratively with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement personalized treatment plans that promote mental wellness and recovery.
Mobile Crisis and Crisis stabilization services are provided on a short-term basis as determined during the assessment. Services are to be at most nine days at a time and typically occur 4-6 hours daily. Experience providing Mobile Crisis and Crisis Stabilization services and/or knowledge of community mental health services and resources are preferred for this position.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including individual, group, and family therapy.
- Collaborate with medical providers, case managers, and other professionals to ensure holistic care.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Offer crisis intervention and risk assessments as needed.
- Educate clients and families on mental health conditions, coping strategies, and available resources.
- Stay up to date with best practices and emerging trends in mental health treatment.
Minimum Requirements
- Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field.
- Active license to practice independently in the state of Virginia (Held a supervisee or resident position, LCSW, LPC, PsyD, PhD).
- Licensed to work independently in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience working with children and adults.
- Possession of professional liability insurance.
- Availability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week.
- Completed Mobile Crisis Training Certification
Pay: $40,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
