Lead Electrician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Electrician to oversee electrical installations, maintenance, and repair projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of electrical systems and safety regulations. This role involves supervising a team of electricians, coordinating project schedules, ensuring compliance with codes, and providing hands-on electrical work as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Supervision:

• Lead and manage a team of electricians, apprentices, and technicians.
• Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure quality workmanship.
• Train and mentor junior electricians to enhance skills and knowledge.

Electrical Installation & Maintenance:

• Plan, install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Conduct inspections and testing to ensure proper system functionality.
• Perform wiring, conduit installation, circuit breaker setup, and other electrical tasks.

Safety & Compliance:

• Ensure adherence to National Electrical Code (NEC) and local building codes.
• Enforce safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and hazards.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions.

Project Coordination & Communication:

• Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure timely project completion.
• Maintain accurate records of electrical work, inventory, and maintenance schedules.
• Provide progress reports and updates to management.

Preferred:

• Experience with industrial and commercial electrical work.
• Certifications such as OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, or other relevant training.
• Experience working with HVAC systems, generators, and automation controls.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 50 lbs  and work in confined spaces or elevated areas.
• Comfortable working in varying weather conditions and environments.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, or on-call shifts as required.

Pay: $30.00 - $32.00 per hour

Qualifications & Skills:

Required:

• Valid Electrician’s License (Journeyman or Master, as per state requirements).
• 5 years of experience in electrical work, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Strong understanding of electrical codes and safety regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
• Proficiency in using electrical testing tools and equipment.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and organizational abilities.
