This is an on-site volunteer position for a Chapter Lead located in Polk City, FL. As a Chapter Lead, you will organize and oversee local STEM activities, mentor students and peers, and collaborate with stakeholders to promote educational initiatives. You will lead meetings, coordinate outreach events, and develop innovative programs to engage students in STEM learning. Additionally, you will ensure alignment with STEMist Education's vision and maintain strong communication with the organization’s central leadership team.
- Leadership and organizational skills, including ability to manage and motivate teams
- Strong communication and public speaking abilities
- Basic knowledge or interest in STEM fields such as Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics
- Problem-solving and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse groups
- Commitment to education and creating equitable learning opportunities
- Experience in event planning, mentoring, or community engagement is a plus
- Familiarity with the Polk City, FL, community is an advantage
