What are the responsibilities and job description for the Backup Optic Operator EAN position at Stemilt?
Number of openings: 1 Fulltime, Year Round
Location: A Line – Euclid Plant
Working Shift: Day Shift
Hours & Work Days: 4:00 pm – 12:30 am, Monday - Friday; Hours may vary depending on production needs and may require weekends as needed.
This position will require a pre-employment drug test.
- Displays an excellent ability to communicate.
- Can read and understand pack schedules.
- Sets up fruit drops on the sizer.
- Adjusts sizer weight and colors per grade requirement.
- Maintains pace with production line.
- Maintains efficient and clean work area.
- Know Stemilt fruit grades.
- Consistently striving to improve sorting capabilities of the machine.
- Must be able to compile daily data and send to appropriate groups.
- Utilize the full spectrum of tools at hand to maximize grower returns.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Oracle and Discoverer capabilities.
- Intermediate computer skills.
- Must be able to read, speak and write English.
- Must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds.
