The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of improving instrument manufacturing processes, optimizing procurement processes, managing supply and demand, and building strategic partnerships with suppliers. Overview

This role requires a deep understanding of the life science supply chain and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning: Create supply plans for managed products, parts, and materials that efficiently and effectively deliver on the demand plan. Proactively identify and drive changes need to support and optimize the business.
- S&OP: Lead Supply Planning Process for Instruments.
- Procurement: Manage the procurement process for both reagents and instruments.
- Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and establish strategic relationships instrument suppliers. Monitor cost and performance to identify long term partners, conduct regular performance reviews and implement improvement plans as necessary.
- Contract Negotiation: Negotiate for pricing, terms, and conditions to achieve cost savings and value enhancement while maintaining quality standards. Draft and manage contracts to ensure compliance with organizational policies.
- Market Analysis: Conduct comprehensive market research to identify new suppliers and stay updated on industry trends, pricing changes, and product innovations. Analyze data to inform sourcing strategies.
- Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement strategic sourcing initiatives to optimize procurement processes, reduce costs, and improve supplier performance. Collaborate with R&D, Quality Assurance, and Manufacturing teams to ensure alignment with project requirements.
- Budget Management: Assist in budget planning and forecasting for reagent and instrument procurement. Monitor expenditures and implement cost control measures to stay within budget.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders, including R&D and Operations to understand their needs and ensure timely procurement of materials and instruments.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies. Ensure continuity of supply and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Reporting and Analytics: Provide regular reports and insights on procurement activities, supplier performance, and market trends to senior management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certification (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) is a plus.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in manufacturing, procurement, logistics, and planning. Ideally with a focus on reagents and instruments in the biotechnology/pharmaceutical/Life Sciences industry.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a supervisor or manager role.
- Proven experience in supplier negotiation, S&OP, Supply Planning, Lean Manufacturing, contract management, and supplier relationship building.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards relevant to the procurement of scientific materials.
- High proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 20%
