What are the responsibilities and job description for the SEO Content Strategist position at Stellaractive?
About the Position
Stellaractive is looking for an experienced SEO Content Strategist to help shape and execute content strategies that drive organic visibility, engagement, and performance for our clients.
This role sits at the intersection of strategy and execution. You’ll be responsible for planning, developing, optimizing, and refining content across websites, blogs, and campaigns — always with SEO, intent, and outcomes in mind. Strong writing skills are a given, but what really matters here is how you think: how you approach structure, prioritize opportunities, evaluate performance, and collaborate with both clients and internal teams.
We work at a scale that requires thoughtful, efficient workflows. Our work is driven by research, outlining, iteration, and optimization—often supported by AI-assisted tools—and grounded in strong editorial judgment, SEO expertise, and accountability for the final result.
The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of experience working in an agency environment and 5 years of total experience in content, SEO, or digital marketing. You’re comfortable owning your work from planning through performance review, collaborating closely with designers, developers, and other members of the marketing team, and participating in client conversations when strategy and direction are being discussed.
This is a full-time hybrid position (40 hours/week) with at least three days per week in our SE Portland office. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required. Candidates must currently live in the Portland, Oregon area. Benefits include paid time off (PTO), paid sick time, paid holidays, retirement matching, and employer-sponsored medical, dental, and vision benefits. U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Sponsorship is not offered.
Job Responsibilities
- Own and execute SEO-driven content strategies that support organic growth, engagement, and conversion goals across client accounts.
- Plan, develop, and optimize website content, including service pages, category pages, landing pages, blog articles, long-form content, and supporting resources.
- Apply SEO best practices throughout the content lifecycle, including search intent analysis, keyword research, content hierarchy, internal linking, and on-page optimization.
- Work within modern, scalable content workflows that support research, outlining, drafting, and iteration, with a strong focus on quality, accuracy, originality, and brand standards.
- Collaborate closely with marketing, design, and development teammates on content strategy, site structure, and technical SEO considerations.
- Review content and organic performance using analytics and reporting tools; identify opportunities for improvement and make thoughtful, data-informed recommendations.
- Lead content refresh and optimization efforts to improve underperforming pages and strengthen existing assets.
- Develop and support email strategy and email content, including newsletters, campaign emails, and nurture content aligned with broader SEO and marketing initiatives.
- Communicate directly with clients to plan content initiatives, clarify objectives, present recommendations, and discuss performance and next steps.
- Contribute copy and strategic input to social media content as needed, in coordination with the broader marketing team.
- Stay current on SEO trends, algorithm updates, content best practices, and emerging tools — and share insights with the team.
