Safety Coordinator, Commercial Construction

Stellar Synergy is recruiting a Safety Coordinator for a growing commercial construction labor staffing company in Miami. Our client places skilled tradespeople on commercial and federal projects across South Florida and is scaling toward a field workforce of a thousand active trade workers.

That workforce is largely Spanish-speaking and works on client-controlled jobsites every day. The Safety Coordinator is the person who stands between that reality and an injury. Our client’s safety promise is simple: everyone goes home to their family the same way they showed up to work. That is the job we are hiring for.

This is a field role. You will be in a truck, on jobsites, in the trailer with the client safety representative, and on the phone with an injured worker on a Saturday. If you want a desk and a binder, this is not the seat.

What You Will Own

•     Jobsite presence. Weekly safety walks on active jobsites with documented findings. A Safety Observation Report for every active jobsite, every day, completed and uploaded the same day.

•     Client safety coordination. You are the safety representative on the project. Know each client’s safety protocol, stand-down schedule, and requirements. Attend at least one client stand-down or toolbox talk every week so you hear what the client is telling the crew, then reinforce it.

•     Safety onboarding and training. Safety orientation for every new worker before they start. Weekly toolbox talks. Training completion logs by worker and by jobsite. Safety leadership training for foremen.

•     Incident response. When something happens, you go. Get to the jobsite or reach the worker, find out what happened and how they are, and make the call on clinic care. The paperwork follows; the person comes first.

•     Workers compensation and injury life cycle. Incident and WC reports filed within 24 hours. Own the full cycle: date of injury, every clinic visit and outcome, worker follow-up calls, the return-to-work call, and light duty coordination with the foreman. Maintain the injury tracker end to end.

•     OSHA recordkeeping. OSHA 300 and 300A logs and EMR maintenance, logged in real time as incidents happen. Own the escalated and severe-injury reporting standard.

•     PPE. Own the request-to-issuance process end to end. Friday touchpoint with every active jobsite to capture the week ahead, Monday morning delivery to the jobsite. Issuance and return logs, weekly compliance audits, gang box inventory, and PPE cost tracking by client and project. No worker waits on PPE.

•     Worker communication in Spanish. Hold a safety presence in every WhatsApp project community. Push safety reminders and flyers on a Monday, Wednesday, Friday cadence. Workers need to know who their safety contact is, and that person is you.

•     Certifications. Call every new hire each Friday to verify and collect current certifications and upload them to the worker file. Respond to client safety certification requests.

•     Building the program. Build toolbox talk and stand-down documents for every project, starting with the largest clients and the jobs with the most injuries. Help stand up the technology for field safety reporting.

The Weekly Rhythm

•     Daily: jobsite walks, Safety Observation Reports uploaded same day, WhatsApp safety presence.

•     Monday: PPE and equipment delivered to jobsites, safety push to project communities.

•     Wednesday: safety push to project communities.

•     Friday: touchpoint with every active jobsite for PPE needs, new-hire certification calls, safety push.

•     Weekly: attend a client stand-down or toolbox talk, health check calls with injured workers, injury tracker update.

•     Monthly: OSHA log current, workers compensation audit file pack.

Non-Negotiables

•     Fluent bilingual, English and Spanish. Required, not preferred. Most of the field workforce speaks Spanish and most clients speak English. You will operate in both every day. If you cannot train, correct, and comfort a worker in Spanish, you cannot do this job.

•     Current OSHA 30 Construction card.

•     3 plus years in construction safety, EHS, or a field safety role on commercial jobsites.

•     Hands-on experience with incident investigation and workers compensation claims.

•     Working knowledge of OSHA 300 and 300A recordkeeping.

•     Valid driver license, clean record, and willingness to drive between jobsites across South Florida every day.

•     Comfortable with a phone, WhatsApp, and cloud file uploads. You will document from the field, not from a desk.

•     Someone workers trust and clients respect. You have to be able to shut down unsafe work and still be welcome on that site tomorrow.

Preferred

•     OSHA 500 Trainer authorization.

•     CHST, STSC, or equivalent certification.

•     First aid, CPR, and AED certification.

•     Experience on federal or government projects.

•     Experience with a staffing or labor provider working on a client-controlled site.

•     Return-to-work and light duty program experience.
